DELIGHTFULLY INFORMATIVE PET TALK RADIO SHOWS I A CELEBRATION THROUGH FILM OF THE LOVE BETWEEN DOGS AND THEIR PEOPLE
Strut with me and your mutt this Saturday October 1st in New York City
Are you going to be in New York City this coming weekend? On Saturday October 1st you simply have to get down to Strut Your Mutt at the Hudson River Park’s Pier 26 in Tribeca. From 9 AM to 1 PM they are expecting up to 2,500 people and many of them with dogs! I’m going to be at this giant celebration of pet adoption, which is a fund-raising dog walk and non-stop festivities with dozens of rescue groups represented. What a scene this will be!
Outdoors man and canine-human competitor Kale Casey’s movie “Dog Power” is the engine in the “Outdoors & Adventure” program of the Dog Film Festival –– a thrilling look at the myriad ways in which people, even in wheelchairs, compete with their dogs in demanding athletic competitions; Penelope Laurence’s movie “Dogs in the Pen” is in the “Love Makes the World Go Round” program at the Dog Film Festival and is an inspiring tale of incarcerated women and the dogs they train inside the prison; author Margaret Mizushima is back with another wonderful Timber Creek K-9 Mystery, “Stalking Ground.”
Crazy cat lady or world class musician? Director Markie Hancock’s incredibly beautiful and moving documentary “Feral Love” chronicles the devotion of one lady to a colony of feral cats in NYC — a lady who also happens to be a violist with the New York Philharmonic. This film disrupts our ideas of who and what we love. See the trailer for the movie HERE.
Are there dog training issues that relate specifically to travel? Tracie and Paris talk about car manners, barking in hotel rooms and other potential problems that could put a damper on your vacation and how to prevent them.
