Tonight is the first day of Passover, the big holiday when Jews get together for a Seder, where we eat and share stories, discuss the history of our people and our love for one another. It’s different from all the other days of the year when we eat, tell stories, and gossip about the people we’re going to pretend to love at the Seder.
Passover has always been a big tradition in our family, being passed down from my grandparents to my parents to me. And someday, when It gets married and has children of It’s own (in that order, God willing), I plan on passing this tradition on to It.
So here on April 8th, 2020, even though I’m not the youngest one at the table, I ask the first of the four questions: “Why is this night different from all other nights?” — Because there’s no Seder due the Corona Fucking Virus, that’s why.
