Born in January 1968 to comedian Joan Rivers and film and TV producer Edgar Rosenberg, Melissa followed in her parents’ footsteps and became an entertainer herself.
MELISSA RIVERS‘ HUSBAND AND BOYFRIENDS
As per Melissa’s love life, she has been in years-long relationships with three different men. Her first and only husband was John Endicott. They were married between 1998 and 2003 and currently share a son, Cooper Endicott.
Years after leaving John, she started dating Jason Zimmerman and stayed with him for three years. At the moment, Melissa is in a relationship with talent agent Mark Rousso, who she is sure Joan Rivers would have approved of.
Coming back to Melissa Rivers‘ son, he was born in 2000 and is currently studying at Ohio Wesleyan University. Although Melissa loves being a mother, there is one thing that she regrets about it: not having more children.
The podcaster and author told People in 2017 that she loves parenting so much that she wishes she had more than just one kid. She added:
“I swear to God he makes me cry every day, he’s a teenager, and he’s leaving his mother! I miss that sweet, snuggly little boy who loves his mommy.”
MELISSA RIVERS IS A SOFT MOM
Melissa also confessed that, on a daily basis, she is a strict person. When it comes to her son, though, she is relatively soft by letting him go to bed late and have whatever he wants.
That was, of course, until he left for college. Back in December 2018, Melissa told Closer Weekly how she felt about seeing her only child getting ready to leave home, and she was clearly struggling.
At the time, Cooper was in his senior year of high school, and the TV personality was already preparing for the “combination” (although she had previously used the term “nightmare”) of emotions that would “overtake” her.
Melissa even listed some of those feelings, including sadness, pride, loneliness, and panic. She added that she had been messing with her son about going to college with him to get a Masters’ degree. She kept telling Cooper:
“Make sure that when we narrow [a college] down, that there’s something where like, you know, where I really am considering getting my Masters.”
MELISSA RIVERS QUARANTINING WITH HER SON
The former “Fashion Police” host pointed out that she was not really planning to go to college with Cooper, but since she was “tortured and embarrassed” by her parents, she has been doing the same with her son and hopes that he can carry on the family tradition.
While the coronavirus pandemic has negatively affected many of us in different ways, there is a silver lining to it: families get to spend more time together. That is the case with Melissa Rivers and Cooper Endicott.
For the TV personality, staying home for a long time has not been easy either.
The 19-year-old freshman went back to his mom’s house to quarantine with her and take online classes. According to Melissa, they were “making the best” of their time together, and the fact that they have a “really good relationship” probably helps.
For the TV personality, staying home for a long time has not been easy either. However, she discovered that getting up in the morning just as if it was a typical workday “makes a huge difference.”
