God’s Love We Deliver has announced that Melissa Rivers has joined its Board of Directors.

“It is an absolute honor to welcome Melissa to our Board of Directors,” says Karen Pearl, President & CEO of God’s Love We Deliver. “We know Melissa will bring so much passion, dedication and talent to advancing our mission.”

Joan Rivers, Melissa’s mother, was a beloved friend‎ of God’s Love for over 25 years, and a member of the Board of Directors since 1994. Throughout her years of service with God’s Love We Deliver, Joan demonstrated deep commitment, compassion and generosity. In 2009, Joan won over $500,000 for God’s Love on the NBC reality competition, Celebrity Apprentice.

Melissa’s professional accomplishments are extensive and inspiring. Together with her mother, she created the Red Carpet franchise and phenomenon. She is an Executive Producer of E! Entertainment’s Fashion Police and starred opposite her mother for four seasons of WEtv’s hit reality series, Joan & Melissa: Joan Knows Best?

“For more than two decades I’ve supported the life-changing, life-saving work, that God’s Love does,” says Rivers. “Today, they cook and deliver more than 1.3 million meals a year to people living with cancer, HIV/AIDS and other serious illnesses. I’m honored to join the Board of this organization my mother so deeply loved, and that is loved by so many, and continue to be a proud member of the God’s Love community.”

Melissa has been a friend of God’s Love for many years, delivering meals with her mother and Cooper, on Thanksgiving. The staff, volunteers and Board of God’s Love are honored to have her join the leadership of God’s Love, continuing her mother’s legacy and commitment to the clients she was so dedicated to serving.

“As demand for our services continues to grow, we are grateful that Melissa is joining our Board of Directors,” continues Pearl. “We know that with her many years of dedication to our mission, she will be a voice for our clients, our volunteers and our community. This is a wonderful moment for God’s Love.”
